about

This is my 'toddler having a tantrum' song that I wrote about petty arguments.

I have a very short temper and I am wound up very easily, which a lot of people find quite amusing/surprising! I wrote this song about someone I love very much who likes to challenge me and tell me black is white and white is black. All the while keeping very calm while I get riled up!

This song came to a head when I lost my temper with a stranger on a bus (he wouldn't give up his seat to a pregnant lady...that's a story for another time). Anyway, I kept the row I'd had a secret because I couldn't bear to be told I was wrong this time. I decided to put all my thoughts about this particular relationship down on paper and this is what came out!

lyrics

You're stubborn just for fun
But you're not the only one
You love to disagree
Because you know how much it gets to me

I always lose my head;
Let everything turn red
But you're calm like midnight seas;
A wave without the breeze

I couldn't win if I tried
So I roll with you like the tide

Will you tell me I'm right?
This one time
Stop bringing me down, down, down
Will you be on my side?
This one time
Stop bringing me down, down, down

I wear dresses in the rain
Like summer never fades
But when I feel the cold
You love to say I told you so

I couldn't win if I tried
So I roll with you like the tide

Will you tell me I'm right?
This one time
Stop bringing me down, down, down
Will you be on my side?
This one time
Stop bringing me down, down, down

Is it so hard to lie?
Or turn a blind eye?
You always have to have the last word
Even if the last word is goodbye

Will you tell me I'm right?
This one time
Stop bringing me down, down, down
Will you be on my side?
This one time
Stop bringing me down, down, down
Will you tell me I'm right?
This one time
Stop bringing me down, down, down
Will you be on my side?
This one time
Stop bringing me down, down, down
