A girl and her guitar, such an uplfting track, perfectly sums up what Charlotte is all about, where most people first encounter her, busking on the streets of London (usually by the London Eye). I love the ethos of this, bringing busking into the digital age with a pay what you like pricetag.
Includes high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more. Paying supporters also get unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app.

about
Hello :)
Welcome to my busking download!
The suggested donation for this track is £1, but it is a donation, and you are welcome to pay whatever you choose for the song.
Since finding my way as a street performer and musician I have found out something startling; people say that these days there is no money in music and nobody is willing to buy what they can take for free, but this is not the case.
I have been lucky enough to see the effect of true art. As a busker, I play music on the street "for free". But I never go home empty handed; because people love to show their appreciation for artists and those who love art will pay for it, without being asked to.
Performing on the street has it's difficulties, but I am most surprised at how much it has taught me to trust. I trust people who stop and listen will do the right thing, because I see people paying for my music, first hand, every day.
I also meet people who can't afford to pay for their listening experience, but manners cost nothing, and a smile and a thank you mean a lot to me too. So if you would like this track but you can't afford to pay for it, please take it; it is a gift to you from me. I know that others who can afford it will cover you this time, and in the future maybe you'll buy a gig ticket or an album? And everything will come full circle.
Happy listening :)
Love,
Charlotte

Lyrics:
Streets of London
by Charlotte Campbell
I’m making waves today,
I’m making waves.
Telling stories about yesterday.
I’m getting by today,
Just getting by.
Telling stories by the riverside.
And I don’t need your coins,
No I just need your ear.
Won’t you join me
While we’re standing here?
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music in my heart.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
That’s where we are, that’s where we are.
I’m making memories,
I’m making plans.
My future and my past are where I stand.
I’m making history,
I’m making news.
I’ll make the best of things and hope that soon.
I won’t need your coins,
No I’ll just need your ear.
Won’t you join me
While we’re standing here?
(singing)
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music in my heart.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
That’s where we are, that’s where we are.
Ooooh
Yeah I get lonely.
Ooooh
Yeah I get cold.
Ooooh
Yeah I get tired, oh so tired
But I’ll never sell my soul.
Ooooh
From Piccadilly
Ooooh
To Leicester Square
Oh I gave my heart to London
And you’ll always find me there.
There’s music on the streets of London.
There’s music in my heart.
There’s music on the streets of London.
That’s where we are, that’s where we are.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music in my heart.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
That’s where we are, that’s where we are.
