about
After a few years busking on London's streets I realised what a wonderful thing it is to be a street performer. The joy that I can bring to people's days, making toddlers dance and passers-by smile. It is such a pleasure to be part of London's street scene and this song is an ode to my favourite way of sharing music.
lyrics
I’m making waves today,
I’m making waves.
Telling stories about yesterday.
I’m getting by today,
Just getting by.
Telling stories by the riverside.
And I don’t need your coins,
No I just need your ear.
Won’t you join me
While we’re standing here?
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music in my heart.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
That’s where we are, that’s where we are.
I’m making memories,
I’m making plans.
My future and my past are where I stand.
I’m making history,
I’m making news.
I’ll make the best of things and hope that soon.
I won’t need your coins,
No I’ll just need your ear.
Won’t you join me
While we’re standing here?
(singing)
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music in my heart.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
That’s where we are, that’s where we are.
Ooooh
Yeah I get lonely.
Ooooh
Yeah I get cold.
Ooooh
Yeah I get tired, oh so tired
But I’ll never sell my soul.
Ooooh
From Piccadilly
Ooooh
To Leicester Square
Oh I gave my heart to London
And you’ll always find me there.
There’s music on the streets of London.
There’s music in my heart.
There’s music on the streets of London.
That’s where we are, that’s where we are.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music in my heart.
Buh bah buh bah!
There’s music on the streets of London.
That’s where we are, that’s where we are.
