I wrote this song out of the frustration at myself for ever thinking they were princes!
However, I have wonderful friends who have taught me what I am worth and while I was feeling sorry for myself when I wrote this, I also felt empowered that I had learnt valuable lessons about myself.
lyrics
You're that boy I thought I couldn't get
Turns out that I was right
You're that boy I wasn't gonna let
Never let you out 'my sight
But you don't treat me like a princess
And someone told me that you should
I guess I've learnt to settle for less
I've forgotten what was good for me
I'm too good for the likes of you
Where's my prince when I need him?
I've been told how much better I can do
So where's my prince when I need him?
You're that boy I thought I couldn't get
The one that wouldn't stick around
You're what boy I'm never gonna let
Bring me down, bring me down
I don't think I'm asking too much
No, I'm not asking much at all
You know that flowers are a nice touch?
Well I don't even get a phone call!
I'm too good for the likes of you
Where's my prince when I need him?
I've been told how much better I can do
So where's my prince when I need him?
I always thought he'd come along
And over oceans and seas we would sail
But this is not a fairy tale
This is an epic fairy fail
Where's my prince when I need him?
I'm too good for the likes of you
Where's my prince when I need him?
I've been told how much better I can do
So where's my prince when I need him?
