about
In one of the last conversations I remember having with my Grandad, (Bumpie Bil I used to cal him) I asked him about his life. He told me of all the things he has ever done, marrying my Grandmother was the best decision he ever made. He said if he could live his life all over again, that's the one thing he wouldn't change. This song is inspired by his words and by their favourite song "You've Got A Friend" by Carol King.
lyrics
If I was a fire
I would burn for you
And I’d keep you warm
When the cold winds blew
If I was a river
I would let you swim
And I’d let you walk
Without falling in
If I lived forever
Then my love would never end
And if we weren’t together
I would always be your friend
And if I had my time once more
I’d search for you and then
I would love you all over again
If I was a fighter
I would draw my sword
And I’d show the world
You’re worth fighting for
If I was a lover
I would take your hand
And I’d show you love
Until you understand
If I lived forever
Then my love would never end
And if we weren’t together
I would always be your friend
And if I had my time once more
I’d search for you and then
I would love you all over again
