about
I wrote this sing my first summer busking on the Southbank. It quickly became my home from home as I made friends there, fell in love with the sights and the sounds and felt like I was part of the scenery.
Over time it's significance to me grew and it helped me connect with people and share my music in ways I could never have imagined.
I know that for some people, a trip to see London's sights includes a trip to the Southbank to find me; the idea of that blows me away. I owe so much to that place and this song is a memory of that first summer when I found my place there.
lyrics
So many stories here
But all I see is you.
It seems like every star
I wished upon came true.
I hold your hand so tight
My knuckles turn white.
And as the sun goes down
Your face is doused in yellow light.
And all I can see
Is the sky and you and me.
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
And every step I take
Along this bridge I find
That you are always here
If only in my mind.
There are a thousand faces
Some I've come to know
And some will pass by like the river as it flows
And all I can hear
Is the sound of London cheer.
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
The colours keep on changing,
So keep an eye on me,
Time is looming down on us now
But this water leads us to the sea
The colours keep on changing,
So keep an eye on me,
Time is looming down on us now
But this water leads us to the sea
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
I’ll meet you on the Southbank
